Ferrari Silicon Valley No. 63 Ferrari 458 Italia Grand AM holding station in GT

Risi Competizione with American Canadian Racing’s remaining entry in the Rolex 24 at Daytona, the No. 63 of Toni Vilander, Andrea Bertolini and Olivier Beretta, has maintained a steady and consistent pace in the second quarter of the race and held station within the top ten of the GT class.

The Ferrari is currently P10 but almost two laps behind the class leader after being disadvantaged by the nine full course caution periods so far and not profiting from any wave bys.  A slightly longer, scheduled pit stop also took place just before the mid way mark in the race when brake pads were changed in addition to fuel and tires.

Andrea Bertolini completed a very strong double stint in the cold, early hours of Sunday, and said afterwards, “The car was running very well and we could do very consistent lap times.  I think we could have lapped faster but it wouldn’t have been good for the car with half the race still to come.  Toni [Vilander] wasn’t feeling too well when he got out of the car after his last stint, so I’m going to try and get as much sleep as possible now in case I have to get in again after Olivier.  We all hope Toni will be recovered after some rest.”

The car has been running trouble free and, despite the many incidents which have interrupted the race’s green-flag running, there are still over 40 cars running without significant delays.
