First Look at Ferrari’s EV Cabin Design

Ferrari Luce Interior Philosophy

Ferrari Luce introduces a driver-focused electric cabin that fuses heritage craftsmanship with next-generation EV technology. Designed in collaboration with LoveFrom, the collective led by Sir Jony Ive and Marc Newson, the interior reflects minimalist precision, tactile materials, and intuitive digital displays engineered for clarity at speed. Clean architecture, purposeful ergonomics, and advanced electric performance instrumentation reinforce Ferrari’s performance DNA while signaling a bold shift toward the brand’s electric future.

Ferrari’s History & Road to Its First EV

Founded in 1939 by Enzo Ferrari in Maranello, Italy, Ferrari built its legacy on Formula 1 dominance, naturally aspirated V8 and V12 engines, and unmistakable exotic design. Track-driven engineering and road-car innovation established performance as the brand’s foundation. Electrification evolved from that same pursuit of speed and precision. Hybrid systems debuted in LaFerrari and progressed in the SF90 Stradale, where electric torque sharpened acceleration and responsiveness while preserving driver engagement. In October 2025, Ferrari confirmed its first fully battery-electric production model, now known as the Ferrari Luce, marking a strategic move into a multi-energy future that blends EV technology, sustainability, and the unmistakable emotion of a Ferrari driving experience. Ferrari Luce Control Panel

A self-contained, articulating control panel enhances the Luce driving experience by blending mechanical inputs with a precision digital interface. Designed for both driver and co-pilot interaction, the panel pivots smoothly using an integrated handle and palm rest, allowing intuitive access from either seat. At its center sits a high-resolution, custom-shaped OLED touchscreen laminated to durable, high-visibility cover glass and framed in machined aluminum. An anodized aluminum bracket extends from the rear, forming both the structural handle and ergonomic palm rest, delivering tactile function, visual clarity, and refined engineering in one cohesive unit.

Ferrari Luce Centre Console

A standalone center console anchors the Luce interior, integrating the vehicle key, shifter, armrests, storage, and rear-cabin controls into one cohesive module. The key symbolizes the driver’s enduring connection to Ferrari. When docked, Ferrari’s historic yellow pulses from the key across the interface, initiating startup and unlocking the shifter, signaling readiness to drive. Rear passengers access a dedicated control panel that displays real-time drive data and manages climate settings. Wrapped in premium Italian leather with Alcantara-lined storage, the console blends craftsmanship with precision engineering. Shifter controls are finished in anodized aluminum and selectively textured glass, reinforcing tactile clarity and performance intent.
